Yeah I heard that too.
From what I've heard about the show, I think I'd really like it if it wasn't based on the books. If it was different names and stuff it would be fine. But its not, its meant to be based on the books and one of the main characters has been changed completely which I think is a real shame for people who are fans of the books. Ugh, sorry, I really do just hate whats been done.
Could you post a link for it on youtube horsemystique? Out of pure curiosity, I would quite like to watch it. But I know I'll end up screaming at it cause its so wrong!!

I watched it last night on youtube. It was oddly a lot like The OC. If it wasn't based on the Heartland books I'd really like it. I really don't like how they've changed Ty and Scott's characters so much. And the party? Parties like that had better not be a common thing, cause thats just typical teen drama. Also I don't really like the actress they have playing Amy.

I watched the first 3 parts. It was ok. I hate the Ty characters. "What's the deal with those babes?" Uh, SO not Ty. If it weren't based on Heartland, I'd love it. But I don't even want to watch it right now.

I agree, I'd really like it if it wasn't based on Heartland (although the girl who plays Amy annoys me) . But it is and I hate it! Ty's character is a joke and Amy at a hot tub party?!?! Its so stupid. They turned it in to a teen drama with horses to try and get a bigger audience and its just wrong. I'm sure it will be really well like by people who haven't read the books, but to those of us who have, its a major dissapointment. Not only that but I really don't like Lauren Brooke any more because she agreed this deal. She's dissapointed her fans who have been loyal to the series from the early books, we may have been loyal to her, but she hasn't to us.

I agree completely, and I hope that it sort of mellows out later on. I hope they just made all those changes to sort of "hook" people into it, but they will smooth it over and make it sort of truer to the books in the future. Sadly, a lot of shows start revolved around horses and move on to teen drama (take Wildfire for example!). Hopefully, Heartland will not be one of them! Also, I dont think Lauren Brooke gave them the rights to the characters becasue the names are different and some of the actual characters are different. Sometimes an author will just sell the rights to the plot and some of the storylines and some of the characters. In saddle Club, only some of the stories were turned into shows becasue the rights to some were withheld. Hopefully, its not becasue Lauren Brooke is turning her back on the fans!

Here's hoping you're right about the rights thing Audrey! But in all honesty its a little hard to believe it with how much Amy and Ty have been changed in the two special edition books.

I understand, but just watch episode 8. It's based off of book number 7, Out of the Darkness. Personally, I think it is exactly like that book. You'll be surprised, I mean I was, seeing the similarities between Ty and Amy in that book and with Gallant Prince.
