sorry its been a while...during the summer I dont come on the computer as much because I am up at the barn a lot...heres a little update so you all dont keep wondering or thinking I bailed out:
foals - okay so I dont have any pictures (its quite a long story), so i thought I could just inform you all of them. Okay so the two half-brothers Jay and Cy were sold as weanlings (along with Crystal, one of the broodmares, if anyone remembers her) to a woman in kentucky who wants to raise them on her farm and use Crystal for her daughter to ride. Three of the foals were returned last week along with their dams to a farm in Ithaca that sent their mares to us to be bred, so they have all been shipped back. One foal was sold as a weanling to a family that lives in vermont and they have this big old farm with a few young horses and some dogs and such so it will be fun for him. The other five are still here, alive and kicking. They are the younger of the bunch, and most of them will be living here for the next few years, with the exception of Lexi's foal, whom we are not allowed to get attached to, becasue we have already sold her and she is leaving as soon as she is old enough. The other four, however, are going to be staying here for training.
Stanley - We are only leasing him, as I have found out. He is to stay until the end of the summer. My cousins from my moms side are coming in tomorrow (busy relative week...*sigh*) and they want to ride him some, which I really cant say no to since they know what they are doing and all.
Pierre - has been having a lot of days off...by which I mean he doesnt usually break a sweat or have to think a lot. Usually by the time Im done with barn chores and such, all I have time to do is ride him down to the creek or around the farm for a bit, usually bareback since quite frankly I am too gross to want to tack him up and swimming down in the creek sounds like more fun than working him
everything else - well everything is going pretty smooth...Ill post here once in a while when I get the chance, but I dont get to go online much in the summer becasue my mom has me up at the barn either helping out, working out horses, or covering for her lessons while she runs up to the house and such...so I guess Ill post more later?
