I love Dreamer, great film! Basicaly its about this filly who breaks her leg racing. SHe was going to be put down but because the trainers (Kurt Russell) daughter (Dakota Fanning) is there hestops them and buys her instead. But looking after her also brings the family back together and makes them learn a lot about each other. Very good film.

Everyone seems to mention Flicka when talking abut horse movies and say its really good. I don't even know what its about! Its not out on DVD here in the UK until August (and at that point I'll be in the States) so I gotta wait ages til I'll be able to see it.

I have yet to see it, we have been putting off renting movies for months now, and it is one of the movies i am going to rent when we can. But i have heard that a lot of horse loving people will not see it, because of horses dieing on set because of something people did, but i just remember hearing that online somewhere it might not be even true.

hmm i'd not heard that. that's pretty bad if it did happen. flicka is about a girl who tries to connect with this wild mare. flicka is the name of the mare it means pretty girl. it's a pretty good movie i liked it. it has a few similarities to the phantom stallion and reminds me of sam some what but you know after watching it that it wasn't based on the phantom stallion at all.

I was looking in to Flicka to see what it was about and heard rumors about horses dieing whilst they were filming. From what I can gather, the horse died from an accident, after standing on his reins of lead rope after breaking free from his handler and jerking his head up and breaking his neck.

Yes, I just read an article that said that exact same thing. It was written by an extra that was on the set when it happened. Of course, it was mostly the idiot handler's fault for not controlling the horse better and leaving a 13' lead line on the horses when they were running free. Its no wonder a horse stepped on it and broke his neck.
Black Stallion is my favorite horse movie Seabiscuit is okay Dreamer is good...part of it was filmed at my friend's farm (which is now underwater due to Katrina) Two Bits and Pepper was horrible, I dont recommend it those are all I can think of right now...ill post some more later

I also don't understand why people won't watch it, but it is what i heard somewhere. I forgot about Seabiscuit! I liked it okay. I liked Dreamer better (i think it is because i liked the acter better I like Black Beauty,
