As much as I adore them, right now I'm wishing that Lauren Brooke stopped with 'Always There' because that was fantastic, and had a great ending.

It's just Amy seemed so ooc in Beyond the Horizon and if the blurbs for the French books are anything to go by, she's just gonna get worse.

I am posting my thoughts because it is really big:
Ok, if Lauren Brooke made them break up because Amy wanted to travel to work with other horses, that would be okay.
Like if she wanted to go to other states and heal horses, and Ty tells her he will wait, and she can't wait to know what lays beyond the horizon...that would have been a whole lot better.
Not just 'I don't feel it anymore' yeah that does not work for the Amy we know.
You know how Will goes to Arizona, well Amazon's summary and Barnes and Noble's summary is really different than the books:
Being away from Heartland has been anything but easy for Amy Fleming. The work at the horse sanctuary was her life for years. Now she is in a pre-vet program, and she has new challenges and new friends. Amy refuses to believe anything has changed. But as soon as she's come home for spring break and been reunited with her boyfriend, Ty, she gets a call from another vet student. Will Savage is on a ranch in Colorado where there's a horse that needs Amy's help. Torn between her old life and her new one, Amy has to decide. But, in the end, she learns that she isn't the only one who is moving on.

Yeah I guess so. One thing I've always loved about Heartland is that they're believable, very down to earth and realistic. But Beyond the Horizon wasn't that way. Or it didn't seem so to me. Like I've said before, yes people change when they're at college, but for Amy to change that much in such a short space of time seems wrong. Before she was a down to earth girl, who rightly wasn't obsessed with how she looked and her focus was on her horses and the horses she helped. In BtH she wasn't like that. I mean riding that horse without checking the notes to make sure she didn't do anything she shouldn't with her? I really don't see the real (pre BtH) Amy doing that, she cared to much for the welfare of the horse.

I could kinda see that much change over say 3 or 4 years, but it was just way too quick. I'd still hate the change but at least it would be a little more believable.

Okay...big, big moment... I finally figured out, after getting past all the anger and sadness, why I do not like Beyond the Horizon. Here goes... It's the way Lauren Brooke did it. After thinking (okay, and maybe obsessing) for a long time, I realized I am (takes deep breath) not entirely against Amy and Ty breaking up while Amy is at college. I understand that it would be unrealistic for them to keep dating while she's away. But I HATE the way Lauren Brooke led up to it. Amy changed so much after so little time. The way Lauren Brooke did it, it seemed as though Amy was breaking up with Ty because she liked Will. All the stuff about how handsome, funny, etc. (barf, barf, barf) Will was. And that's just so unlike Amy, especially after all she and Ty had been through together. I think it would have been better if Lauren had ended it with them promising to wait for each other, leaving us with one shred of hope! So there. No big, emotional thing. That's just my conclusion

Yes. Those are my thoughts exactly. I realised it quite a long time ago. The problems I have with both BtH and AWG is the major changes with the characters. Yes people can change quickly but with the people Amy and Ty are, its too much too quickly and really unrealistic. If they hadn't been changed so much I wouldn't mind about Amy and Ty breaking up.
