you know how amy's father remarried. did that seem heartless to any of you or mean. cause he didn't divorce Marion did he? so basically he just left Marion for no reason (that is to say it wasn't marion's fault) and found another woman. seems cruel to me. marion didn't do anything to him that we know of but he not only left her to cope with everything on his own he went and got remarried.

He did divorce Marion, years after they split. He left because of being temporarily paralyzed and he thought Marion was only going to stay with him out of pity (which wasn't true). He tried to get back together with Marion but she refused. It was then that he asked for a divorce, moved on and met Helena. I don't see his leaving them as cruel or harsh, he was doing what he honetly saw as best for them. He was wrong but accidents like that screw your head up. I do think it was a bit harsh that when he got back in contact with Marion to see if they could be together again, that he never fought harder to see Amy and Lou. Or why he didn't just come and see them and be a part of their lives again. I don't think him seeing them again was ever mentioned when all of this was talked about in the books, so I guess we can't know what happened between him and Marion when he got back in contact.
