Okay so I forgot something else... So of all the people that died, did anyone else find Hedwig the saddest? I think the reason JK Rowling killed her was a symbolic sort of thing to symbolise that every connection to the old "Wizarding World" had to be severed, becasue it would never be the same as long as the dark lord was in power. Also, I think thats sort of why his wand was severed for so long. Just a thought. I mean, I know about the Elder wand and how everything tied together in the end, but I think it was deeper than that. Just a thought

Ok, i am happy you are done with it!.
And yes Hedwig was one of the deaths i was most sad about, i was also sad about Dobby. But my mom said something to me this morning about how i was right, i really don't remember saying this to my mom but, she says i said that i thought one of the twins were going to die. And it turns out i am right, i think i said that like last year.

Hey guys it is me, really don't know why it won't let me sign in on here but what ever, at least I can post!
Audrey re dates, Harry Potter was born in 1980. That on JKR's website, and it has been stated at various other times. I think that because when she started writing the first book for him to be 11 he would have been born then. all dates after that coraspond to that being when he was born.
I think Hedwig's death was very sad but Fred's is the adest death for me. I was expecting a Weasley to die but it sure as hell wasn't one of the twins!! Dobby's death was really sad as well because for a moment you think he made it out if there as well.

Wow I missed lots here. I loved DH but I hated it at the same time. I think the Epilogue was the worst part of it. I'm not sure why, I just don't like it. What's up with the name Albus Severus? It's just freaky.
I was shocked when Fred and Dobby died. That was horrible. I was the most upset that Remus and Tonks died. I was expecting Remus to die but after Teddy was born, I thought they had a chance. Then, they both go and die.
The only part I cried at was in the forest when Lily, James, Sirius, and Remus come out of the forest and Remus starts saying that he's sorry too but he hopes Teddy will understand why they died. I just started crying really hard right there.
Did you know J.K.R. hadn't originally planned for Remus and Tonks to die? Arthur Weasley was supposed to die in OOTP but she changed it and decided to kill of those two in DH instead. It irritates me a bit. I didn't want to see Arthur die but why did 2 have to die if 1 couldn't? Or why did any of them have to die? There were enough other people that were already dead.

Chill out Harmony! lol. I don't think it was a case of two had to die because one didn't, I just think that JKR felt it was right for both of them to go like that. With the battle being as big and bad as it was there were going to have to be a lot of deaths. Thats what happens in war.
I actually don't mind the name Albus Severus. Yes its strange but so are a lot of names in the HP universe. I like it because of the meaning behind it, the fact that Harry wanted to name their son after two people who helped so hard to keep him alive. Its something that I feel shows that he does indeed understand how big a part they played in everything and that he wants to honor that. So despite its strangeness, I really like it.

okay I cried like ten times during the course of reading the book....the epilouge was AMAZING and I couldnt stop smiling after I read it. I just kept thinking "Gosh there are gonna be a lot of amazing fanfictions based on this"...speaking of, has anyone read anything decent yet based on the seventh book or perhaps the time inbetween those 19 years? I'd love to read it! Oh and thanks to all who helped me with the confusion on the dates. I was a little confused, but Its been cleared up!

Thanks Eaty, yeah I made it here fine (minus several very near panic attacks - I hate flying) and I'm enjoying the sun.
I also couldn't stop smiling for ages after I read the epilouge! I agree that its amazing.
I only cried once in the book but I had tears in my eyes quite a few times but shock was the over riding emotion towards the end. Until the epilouge of course, then it was all smiles! lol

I know what you mean about the meaning behind Albus Severus. I love how Harry changed his opinion of Snape. I did too. I was hoping he was bad and then I found out exactly what he did and I was like "Oh my gosh. I love this guy!" And when Harry told Albus that he was named after 2 headmasters and one of them was in Slytherin (sp?) and he was probably the bravest man he'd ever known, I couldn't help smiling. I thought it was sweet. I just don't like the 2 names together I guess but it's growing on me very slowly.
Audrey, do you mean fanfiction just based on the book about everything or about certain pairings? I've read quite a few really good ones and written a couple myself but I'm not sure if they're what you're looking for.

Okay so as soon as I came to post here, a very nice looking picture of daniel Radcliffe just popped up on my screen and I couldnt help but think of how much Im looking forward to the moveis for the 6th and 7th books! About the fanfics, I guess Im looking for anything...perhaps people's takes on what happened in the 19 years apart would be really cool to read. Im open to anything since I havent read them in a while (a year or so I guess). And Cem, its great to hear you are loving the US...okay and sure, Albus Severus sounds like too many "-us's" but its grown on me as well. Its quite a mouthful, thats for sure.
