spending all day reading sounds amazing! I hope you have a fun time on your trip Eaty - it sounds like you need to get away for a bit. I know the feeling of everything breaking down and feeling hopeless or frusterated about it. This past thursday, Pierre coliced twice, so I havent been able to ride him for a bit. We had a long weekend, and I spent most of it taking Pierre on long walks to get him out of his stall since he cant be turned out incase he bolts or rolls or does something a normal horse would during turnout becasue his intestines are still really sensitive right now, so he has to be hand walked for a few more days, and then he can be lightly hacked. Ive also been taking care of a boarder's horse named Skye while she was away for the weekend. Skye is a gray TB mare with the meanest, most marish attitude! Everytime I turn my back, she has her ears pinned! Weve worked in the round pen twice and she still doesnt respect me! Its quite intimidating to be honest! Anyway, her owner comes home tomorrow, so I wont have to deal with Skye anymore. I dont know if any of you remember me telling you about Andrew (my trainer's working student who had been working with Pierre and I this summer in case you forgot). He pulled Pierre and I from the competition circuit until next spring. He says Pierre and I have more important things to worry about. Hes right, but I still dont think its his decision. The good news is that I have more time in my life to ride for fun and to finish school work and all sorts of good stuff!

I'm reading a series of books by Tess Gerritsen, she writes crime fiction. I got to see a load of pics of the baby today and he's so cute! I'm looking forward to meeting him but I have no idea when that will be.
I'm sorry you're having a rough time at the moment eaty. I hope things get better and you have a great time when you're away!
I'm sorry about Pierre Audrey, I hope he recovers fully soon. I can see why you'd be annoyed with Andrew, right or not, I don't think it was his call either. Skye sounds like the kinda mare I'd like working with. lol. I like working mares like that, no idea why!
...finally got a bit more paint on my walls. My plan is to get my room done by or on Saturday. Then I can move all my stuff back in and get my pictures up. I'm probably going to get more gerbils as long as I have space for the cage in my room, so I want my room done so I can go and buy them! lol.

...painted and went to SAP (Student Aged Pastorate) which is basically a group of student-aged (go figure!) people from my church meeting up. We meet once a fortnight and eat and do some bible study, prayer, chat and generally have a great time!

Early start!! I hate early starts, I'm really not a morning person! I hope you have a great trip eaty! You'll have to tell us all about it once you're back.
...haven't really done anything. I was going to spent the weekend painting but I have a really painful back, I think all the stuff I'm doing in my room has aggrivated the injury to my back so I'm in a lot of pain. So sadly the work will have to wait a few days but hopefully I can get everything done by the end of the week or early next week at the latest.

Pierre is better, we've done a few light hacks around the fields to keep him in shape. The vet okayed him going back to work, so hopefully he will be able to go on the cross country course before the snow sets in and things get dangerous! My mom has been busy planning the Halloween ride this year - Im really excited. Mom said I could take Lexi trick or treating since all of the foals have been weaned and such and Lexi is no longer needed in the breeding barn. I decided to dress up as a witch, and make Lexi into a black cat. The truth is, she is more a witch in her personality, but oh well. Skye was fun to work with, and I did end up having a nice hack with her last week, but im glad that her owner is back. The good news is that we are getting a new boarder soon. All I know about him (or her) is that he/she has been riding on the A-Circuit for a while but is no longer competing due to an old injury. He/She is supposed to have a nice Hanoverian/TB gelding that will need some work before showing in the spring. I think Mom said they are arriving on Saturday, so I guess that means we have to get a stall ready soon. Sorry I havent been on in so long...things have been hectic around here. I have a physics lab to get to yet, and I took the pSATs this morning so I havent really done much more than sleep. I did watch the Heartland episode though...pretty weird! I thought it was completely different than the books, and parts of it were an attempt to be "cool" or "up to date" with kids, but it just sorta fell through. I'll let you draw your own conclusions though. Go to YouTube and search Heartland Episode and it should come up in 8 segments. Pretty nifty!

Cool thanks for the info on the Heartland Ep Audrey, I think I'm gonna watch it, but I don't expect to like it. Don't worry about not being around much, life is more important! lol. Thats good news about Pierre, I'm glad he's ok.
...havent really done anything! Off to find the Heartland ep now though.

Today and yesterday were both super warm (upper 70s) for late October so I have been doing a lot of riding and not a lot of online-ing, my apologies! Yesterday my friend Hannah and I spent almost all day riding. We started out with the horses that needed exercise and just gave them quick workouts, then we ended up taking Pierre and Calypso (this really pretty palomino mare) out to some of the trails where we raced a little on the low course and then went for a swim in the creek afterwards to cool down. Today I spent some time cleaning my tack while I waited for my mom to get home and then I had a lesson with her on Pierre. Until I turned 14, I wasnt allowed to ride alone (well, me plus a horse and a cell phone!) and im only allowed to jump if I am with someone else until I turn 18, so it was nice to have an actual jumping lesson with my mom. We only jumped about 2'9, but I was exhausted afterwards and had to spend a lot of time hosing down Pierre's legs. My mom just informed me that its time to go put blankets on and feed dinner. Its supposed to get colder at night, which means clipping and blankets all too soon!

I am back! I have been back for 2 days now but have been too lazy to post anything to say i am back, but i do live or at least i think i do.
I have yet to watch all of the first Heartland ep, i watch a few parts then i got busy and havn't gotten back to it and now i think i need to re-watch it. My mind is too full of stuff that happened while i was away on my trip i learned a lot and am so tired.
...I hung out, then had to walk to this program i am helping out with. The program is what i was doing last week learning out to live in the woods., and it went well other then tripping over some barbed wire and falling and cutting my knee on something.
I will post more at some point, i am really tired so i don't know when i will post.

sounds like you had a fantastic time...you'll have to post some more later!
Today I...carved pumpkins and helped get everything ready for the Halloween ride tomorrow, which is in full swing. A couple of my friends are coming over and we are all going out in a big group to trick or treat with the ponies.

Sounds like fun Audrey! I hope all the Halloween ride went really well.
...am feeling much more like me. I've had flu for a little over a week now and have been really ill. But I'm starting to feel better now and today I feel much better. So I've basically spent the last week in bed watching dvds and sleeping!

The halloween ride went really well until a couple of kids decided to feed their candy to their horses! We had to intrevene and teach them about the dangers of candy and horses! Of course, I really shouldnt talk....just this past weekend my mom busted me for feeding Pierre wheat thins! Im glad you are feeling better Cem! Its no fun to be sick!
Today I...hacked Pierre and then helped clip all of the horses for winter. By the time we were done we had clipped 14 horses! My arm is still sore from holding their halters so that they didnt wiggle! My mom brought out all of the blankets and we began to hang them on the stall doors. It was fun, but a lot of work.

...am totally exhausted. I've still got this flu bug (had it for over two weeks now) and so doing anything takes all the energy I have. Sigh. I'm so fed up of being sick. So yeah, not really done anything lately!!

Im so sorry your sick. Perhaps this bug travelled across the ocean becasue I've been sick too! Mine is just strep and a fever though, so not as bad as what you've probably got. My mom hasnt let me go to the barn becasue of my fever, so basically I've been watching movies and catching up on some reading lately. Im feeling a lot better today though, so I think I can go back to the barn tomorrow, but Im going crazy here! Cabin fever is more like it!
