I don't own my own horse sadly but I was at college for a couple of years, on different yards both times, as well as the yard where I did my work experience so I really got to know a lot of horses, these are some of them: This is Shani. He is at Summerhouse, where I spent my first year at college and where I now ride. He's about 16.2hh TB cross. He's a grumpy sod most of the time but if you spend some time with him just fussing him instead of tacking him up or grooming him of cleaning his stable he is a much sweeter person! He's my fave at Summerhouse to ride. This is Porthos. He's also at Summerhouse. He's 3/4 Shire horse 1/4 Irish Draught and stands at 17.3hh but as he's so broad he feels much, much bigger when you're on him! (but then I'm only 5ft 3" so any horse over 16hh feels pretty big to me!) This is Woody. He used to live at St George Stables where I did my work experience before they closed and he was sold. He's a small Welsh cob Sec D who stands around 14.2hh and is one of the sweetest horses I've ever known and one of the best I've ridden. He's got great movement and a fantastic jump! Also at St George was my favorite horse ever, Kalla. I don't have any photos of her sadly as the phone they were on got dropped in a bucket of water by mistake and they were lost. By that point she'd already been sold and it broke my heart when she left. She was about 15.1hh piebald cob mare with one wall eye. She was a total madam but I loved her for it. She had been abused as a youngster and had learned to fight anything she didn't like. It took you a long time to gain her trust but it was worth it when took the time. This is Jet. He was at HorseWorld where I did my second year at college, he is now at a new permanent home. (HorseWorld is a horse sanctuary). He is a cob of some kind and stands at about 15hh. I think of him lovingly as a bit of a p***k as he ditched me 8 days before Christmas last year and I spent my entire Christmas holiday plus some in pain! But I do love him really and I'm glad he's going well at his new home. This is Shalou. She is another horse from HorseWorld. She's still there but in early retirement now as she developed arthritis and kept going lame. She is a TB/ID cross and stands at 17.2hh. Louie is a typical example of why you shouldn't buy a chestnut mare as she kicks people and horses and will pin you against the stable wall if she's in a particularly bad mood too. But she was I disagreeigned care horse at college so we built up an understanding and got on pretty well. This is Jacob (but I always call him Jake). He again is at HorseWorld and still there with the college and is a cob of unknown origin. He's about 15hh and 11years old. When He first came to the college as a 10 year old you would swear he was a three year old who had spent his whole life in a field except you could put tack on him. He wasn't mean just very, very pushy. HE didn't know any better and you had to have a bridle on him with two people holding him to keep him anchored and make him go where you wanted when you were leading him. He had no manners what so ever. And with a rider on him if you asked him to flex or go on the bit or canter in a corner off the correct lead he wouldn't have a clue what you were asking him so he'd try and buck you off. But I loved him anyway. And he's doing much better now, he still has a ways to go but we can put slightly less experienced riders on him now without much of a problem. There are loads more horses I could talk about (and probably will at some point!) but those are my faves.

Okay so we have about 30 some horses right now and most of them are boarders or horses in training that dont belong to us, plus there is no way i am posting up 30 blurbs and 30 pictures...that would be a record long post. SO I will post them sporadically as I get more pictures of the horses. First horse that I would like to introduce is our very own Proof That Hell Exists aka Wesley. His registered name is actually Ledgewood's Pignolet but hes the closest thing I've ever come to an encounter with the Devil. Anyway, hes one of my favorite colts that we have, mostly because he is the direct offspring of Lexi (my pony). He is a connemara purebred with amazing lines (mostly becasue Lexi is in them...heehe okay i promise im done idolizing her) and a huge knack for getting himself into trouble. He will probably be with us until the day he goes to horsey heaven becasue there is no way we will sell him. He will stay and live his days out happily as a stallion in our breeding barn. Here is a picture of him:

All the horses are pretty!
I don't own any horses, but my best friend does i don't have any photos of them to show you but i will tell you a bit about them.
There is Kitana, a 23 year old, thoroughbred ex-polo pony, she is super sweet but she has arthritis in her back legs and it gets really bad sometime. She has no mean bone in her body and i love her. Some times i see her and her mane is full of burs, because burs are good for arthritis and horses know what is good for them.
Then there is Canto, a 13 year old thoroughbred ex-race horse. He was abused when he was a race horse, beaten on the head after races, so he does not really like people, but for some reason he likes my mom. He is getting over an injury a horse kicked him right on the hock last year and it got pretty bad, but he is getting over it.
Then there is Syra a 10 year old thoroughbred also a ex-race horse. She is really sweet she really likes people and dogs, she is the only horse my friend has that is somewhat ride able, you can't really steerer her but other wise she is fine.
Then there is Gus a 15 year old i-don't-know-what pony, he has some kind and eye cancer and is blind, he really trusts people and is sweet. You really have to touch him and talk to him if you want him to do something, but he is sweet.

Cute horses! Soo muddy! Who is the boy in the picture? Is gus blind? We used to have a mare who lost an eye in a trailer accident. She was blind on her left side and we had to retire her becasue she wasnt really handleing learning everything again and vocal commands. Too much stress on her. Cute pony tho!

OK, so this is going to be a bit of a story.
My best friend who has horses and is also trying to get a horse sanctuary going and is almost there, late last night sent me and my mom a e-mail about this pony for sale, who in the home before the one he has now beat him so he is really head shy, and doesn't really like people (or so i hear). And right now he is for sale, but she said yesterday that is no one was going to buy him before 3/2 (Today) he is going to slaughter. And so we found out that she was trying to find a way to save him, but didn't have enough money to buy him. So my mom helped in paying for him.
So my family now owns half a pony (We have yet to decide which half lol). I have yet to meet him he will be at my friends house in a few days, and when i meet him i will post more about him and get some pics of him for you guys to see! I can't wait!!

I will!! I really hope me and my friend can help him, we have already helped one horse who was shy. My friend's horse Canto (i showed you guys a pic of him with my brother) used to be really really really head shy, but he is not so anymore, he also used to not really like people but he has gotten over that, So hopefully we can do the same to our pony Jimmy. But he sounds really sweet, he also loves to jump. And i just now remembered i have a pic of him my friend showed me when she first heard of him. (and i have no clue who is riding him in this pic)
